We’ve gone and appointed the beautiful Matt Hocking as Non Executive Director – Sustainable Delivery.
Matt’s experience of running one of the first UK B Corps, Leap, combined with his relentless focus on reducing the carbon footprint of creative production positions him perfectly to keep Don’t Cry Wolf honest when it comes to environmental impact.
The agency has already been working closely with Hocking’s design team, Leap; this appointment will be an extension of the relationship.
Matt will be focused on working with Don’t Cry Wolf to improve its B Corp certification score, hitting its Science Based Targets and developing initiatives that will help to reduce the environmental footprint of the agency’s campaigns and communications programmes.
Commenting on the hire, John Brown said, “Part and parcel of having good governance is having people that will hold you to account and challenge you to do more. Matt has an astonishing reputation in sustainable development for the creative industries and his experience, knowledge and enthusiasm will give us a great big kick in the arse.”
Hocking is the third external member of the board, joining Stephen Waddington of Wadds Inc. and Amy Barber of Tangle Teezer, a Don’t Cry Wolf client.
Matt Hocking, B Leader, founder of Leap and co-founder of Goodfest, added: “I’ve been lucky enough to see Don’t Cry Wolf go from a couple of people with a lot of attitude to an agency that is genuinely looking to change the way the PR industry does business. I can’t wait to get stuck into some exciting projects and hold Sara and the team’s feet to the fire when it comes to impact on our planet.”
Matt will be working closely with Don’t Cry Wolf from its Cornish office in Truro as well as working with the team based at XAndWhy Fulwood Place in London.
