Great copy can make a campaign. Poor copy can kill it just as fast. It’s a mantra we live by and ensures we take our writing pretty seriously around here.
That meant when it came to hiring a new junior consultant specialising in all things words and social we knew finding the right person was going to be tricky. We needed someone who is as comfortable writing the perfect caption for an Instagram post as they are creating simple, compelling copy for a client’s website product page. No easy feat.
So it was a wonderful surprise to receive a simply incredible range of CVs; the quality of which both blew us away and made for a tough interview process. Fortunately, for us and for him, one candidate’s nose for a good angle, beautiful prose and sharp understanding of what makes social media tick helped one man stand out from the crowd.
Without further ado, let us introduce you to our newest wordsmith, and unashamed Liverpool FC super-fan, Ishmael Anwuri to the DCW family.
Ishmael joins us for his agency debut, following a spell of roles in hospitality and retail, managing stores and making their copy pop on social media. Somehow, he also managed to find time while doing all of that to run his own weekly show about football on YouTube – combining his love for the beautiful game with some wicked video scripting and production skills.
Tom Rouse, Director of Creative and Strategy at Don’t Cry Wolf said: “We’re so excited to have Ishmael join the team. Not only is he a cracking writer, he’s got a keen understanding of what makes for exciting social media content, which he’s already applying to our clients’ feeds. And, we’re assured he’s got some great FIFA skills making him an invaluable addition to the DCW talent roster.”
Ishmael is the latest hire to join Don’t Cry Wolf’s fast growing creative team and will be applying his talents to a range of our consumer clients, including Soda Folk, Owlet, Manhattan and Lockwood Publishing.
